“The Bear Snores On” at Regents Park Open Theatre proved to be an unmissable event for us. Upon discovering that the Open Theatre had opened its doors earlier than usual this year, we promptly booked our tickets in advance. Typically, we eagerly anticipate the summer sessions, where our children revel in running around the park, indulging in pizza at the café, and being captivated by inspiring stories presented by highly talented artists. Our past experiences have always been delightful, so when we saw the title, we didn’t hesitate to secure our spots.

The trail

Despite arriving with high expectations, we were thrilled to find that they were effortlessly surpassed. The play commenced on the lawn in front of the entrance, charming us from the start with its delightful animal jokes. However, the real magic began when one of the characters invited us to stand up and follow them. Through an enchanting corridor, we were led to a cozy cave, where we settled in for an unforgettable experience.

While the plot was intriguing, it was the songs that truly stole the show. Creative, catchy, and performed to West End standards, they left us completely mesmerized. The talented artists enraptured the children, even inviting them to participate in on-stage tasks and concluding with an infectious dance routine.

Exiting the theatre, our children excitedly declared that it was the best play they had ever seen – an exhilarating, artistic masterpiece that brought pure joy. If “The Bear Snores On” returns next year, you can count on us being there without hesitation, eager to immerse ourselves once again in this enchanting production.
